Lift Every Voice Philly is searching for dynamic individuals who believe in people. Our organizers are critical to our next growth phase and will help establish our next three chapters while prioritizing base building and leadership development.
We’re growing our organizing team of mission aligned and results-oriented, relationship driven, strategic thinkers with strong project management skills.
Chapter Organizer Responsibilities
Organize Chapters: Base building and leadership development:
- Consistently meet clear recruitment, outreach, and membership targets;
- Develop, plan, and facilitate member meetings, trainings, and community events;
- Coordinate communications, including e-mails and calls to members, as well as meeting notes and agendas;
- Identify and teach appropriate political education curricula at member meetings;
- Develop an outreach plan to meet with relevant leaders, conduct 1:1s, and build ongoing relationships;
- Meet with public school parents, administrators, city leaders, and allied organizations to inform our work and expand our reach;
- Coordinate bi-monthly Organizer meetings/trainings; identifying core competencies and track growth.
Director or Lead Organizer Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Oversee all Chapters and be a direct liaison to Founding Executive Director;
- Attend regular team meetings with Founding Executive Director and other consultants;
- Support organizers and help build the base for the organization’s next cadre of neighborhood school parents/ caregivers;
- Refine and consistently improve member leadership development model;
Director Level Requirements Managing Organizers:
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain a strong team of organizers;
- Ensure that each organizer has clear annual goals and knows what success looks like for their role;
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching on campaign plans;
- Support organizers in developing strategic campaign plans that can win;
- Serve as a coach and champion for your staff and support them to do their best work through frequent feedback;
- Track progress towards goals; support and troubleshoot when a project is off-track;
- Manage personnel challenges directly, kindly, and firmly using the organization’s progressive discipline procedures;
- Build a collaborative and inclusive team culture where all staff feel a sense of belonging and purpose;
- Provide logistic and strategic guidance necessary to support member-driven campaigns and engagement strategies.
