Don’t miss this exciting interdisciplinary conference: Catching the Wave: Changing the Tides of Health Education and Health Promotion at the Doubletree Hotel Mission Valley, San Diego, California, October 23 – 25, 2008. More than 50 presentations and 60 posters will focus on the transformations in health education and health promotion that are being catalyzed by changes in demographics, culture, language, economics, technology, communications, and other aspects of society.

This 1 ½ day conference will include both oral and poster presentations devoted to four sub-themes: “Health Without Borders or Disparities,” including programs policies and projects that address international/cross cultural health, culture and cultural competency, migrant health, community health workers; “Creating the Change You Want to See in the World,” including social determinants of health and community leadership; “Health Across the Lifespan,” including healthy aging and creating a healthy environment for reduced risks across generations; and “The Shifting Sands of the Health Promotion Landscape,” including the latest developments in using media and technology for enhanced health communications and health literacy.
