Champions of Caring 15th Annual Recognition Program
Do you know a teen who is making a difference in the community?
Champions of Caring (http://www.championsofcaring.org) is currently accepting applications from students in grades 8-12 in the greater Philadelphia area who are active in service and volunteerism and demonstrate strong character. Students who are selected as Champions will be honored at a community-wide celebration on May 20th at 4pm at Drexel University’s Main Auditorium. They will then be eligible to join the Ambassadors of Caring Leadership Program, a regional social entrepreneurship institute, and to apply for a $10,000 annual service scholarship to Drexel University.
Over the past 15 years, Champions of Caring has honored over 2,700 students who have given over a million hours of service!
COC is also looking for nominations for educators who promote service and create cultures of caring – positive, inclusive environments – in their schools and communities, as well as entire schools who demonstrate a commitment to service-learning.
The deadline for applications has been extended to March 1, 2010.
For more information, or to request an application, please contact Brianne Tangney, Executive Director at 610-527-1934 or [email protected]. Applications are also available on our website, http://www.championsofcaring.org.
