We are proud to share that we are committed to a mission of enabling inner city youth to break the cycle of poverty that so negatively impacts their lives. Families must pay a summer camp registration fee for seven weeks of enrichment and care. Last year, 1,500 children enrolled in the EducationWorks program. This year, we want to increase that number. Unfortunately, many families cannot afford the fee and some children are denied.
The EducationWorks summer program has a number of features that distinguish it. Camp serves children from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and operates from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Over 500 AmeriCorps members provide leadership and about 350 high school students serve as junior counselors and role models. In addition to swimming, trips, and arts and crafts, there’s a major academic component that involves children in interesting and engaging ways. This summer’s theme, Growing Peaceful Communities, teaches children of all ages how to solve differences in peaceful ways.
Join us on April 13th to learn more about EducationWorks and meet some of the youth involved in our programs. Please make a tax-deductible donation of $150 to EducationWorks and send a child to a summer camp experience!
Every $150 is a scholarship for a child to attend our summer camps.
Please RSVP to Julie Swarts at [email protected] or 609-392-6662 x. 110.
On behalf of the children, thank you in advance for your support.
