National Endowment for the Arts Accepting Applications for Challenge America Grants
The National Endowment for the Arts is accepting applications from small and midsize organizations for projects that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations.
Through the Challenge America grants program, NEA will award grants of $10,000 to professional projects that have a $10,000 match from an outside funder. Applicants are encouraged to consider partnerships among organizations, both in and outside the arts, as appropriate to their project.
To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization; a unit of state or local government; or a federally recognized tribal community or tribe. Applicants may be an arts organization, a local arts agency, an arts service organization, a local education agency (school district), or other organization that can help advance NEA’s goals. All organizations must have a three-year history of programming prior to the application deadline. Under a new policy to limit consecutive-year funding, NEA will not award Challenge America grants to organizations that have received grants from the program in consecutive fiscal years from 2014 to 2016.
For complete program guidelines and application procedures, visit the NEA website.
DEADLINE: APRIL 14, 2016
