The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) is currently seeking qualified applicants and candidate nominations for the role of Chairperson, Department of Family and Community Medicine.
The ideal candidate is a leader in academic Family and Community Medicine with a proven track record in clinical and community service, program development, collaboration and scholarly research. The candidate will have the proven ability to partner and collaborate with other key organizational stakeholders on initiatives such as access, efficiency and community engagement. Preference will be given to innovative, strategic thinkers with the skill set to build on existing strengths and leverage them to develop a 21st century Family and Community Medicine program.
The incoming Chair’s focus will be to a) to expand the clinical footprint of the department to optimize the provision of exceptional clinical care to the underserved population in the region b) to build relationships with Temple Center for Population Health (TCPH) to enhancing the academic activity of the Department including innovative research in population and community health and c) to augment the educational mission.
Candidates must possess an M.D. with active board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and credentials that will support a faculty appointment at the rank of Professor is preferred. Candidates also must be active participants in national organizations and committees and be eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Candidates with additional pertinent degrees (Ph.D., M.B.A., M.P.H.) are encouraged to apply.
