The Flourishing Center (TFC) announces its top-rated Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) program will offer classes this fall in Philadelphia, Toronto, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York, and Washington DC.
The program, in executive education format, is a 6-month journey into the science of wellbeing and flourishing.
The program combines cutting-edge research in cognitive neuroscience, mindfulness, contemplative studies, and mind-body medicine with practical application tools for varying personal and professional contexts.
The effect on student participants is an increase in personal wellbeing and the tools to aid and assist others in similar work.
CAPP draws a unique and diverse cohort of students from around the world: educators, wellness, executive and fitness coaches, healthcare professionals, psychologists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, HR professionals, trainers and organizational development specialists, everyday citizens and more.
Since 2012, nearly three hundred students have earned a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) by attending one weekend-long onsite per month and participating in distance learning classes, and completing a final project. There is no prerequisite for the course other than a deep desire for learning in becoming “the change you wish to see in the world.”
The program founded and led by graduates of University of Pennsylvania Martin Seligman’s Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) the first of its kind in the world as researchers pivoted from studying how to fix what’s wrong with human nature to studying what’s right – and how to build it.
There are a limited number of students admitted to each of the seven cohorts in order to ensure small group, intimate, and experiential learning.
Testimonial from our students:
“I saw the opportunity to learn some new skills for my coaching practice, I have been a health coach for over a decade, and I was looking for a way to help my clients think their way to healthier place, rather than just focusing on the food all the time… I have gotten all of those skills and help I every area of my life… I would recommend the CAPP program to any coaches who work with others and want to take their work and their training to the next level.”
