Center for Literacy Tribute to Tony Bennett
Posted by on February 27, 2012
The Center for Literacy invites you to an evening not to be missed: a special benefit performance by Philadelphia’s celebrated singer/bandleader Eddie Bruce in a program devoted to the music and life of the legendary Tony Bennett! Joining him for this one night only presentation will be the Tom Adams Trio along with David Evanier, author of “All the Things You Are: The Biography of Tony Bennett,” and well-known jazz deejay, Bob Perkins of WRTI-FM, who will embellish the music with their anecdotes about Bennett’s life.
Eddie selected the Center for Literacy (CFL) as beneficiary of this premiere event because of his support for the work of the nation’s largest–and Pennsylvania’s first–nonprofit community literacy provider. Cut-backs in government funding due to the current state revenue shortfall have seriously impacted CFL’s budget, making this benefit particularly important in raising money to carry out our vital work.
