Center for Literacy Annual Fundraiser

The Center for Literacy’s annual fundraiser, Reading Writers, will take place on Monday, November 10th from 6-9pm at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, Broad and Lombard Streets in Philadelphia. The event celebrates the organization’s 40th anniversary of operation.
The event begins with a special ceremony Literacy Champions, which are individuals and corporations that have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the literacy mission. Literacy Champions include Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, the mayor’s wife and president of Philadelphia Academies Lisa Nutter, publisher of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News Brian Tierney, former Philadelphia Mayor Wilson Goode, Sr., Verizon, Dollar General Literacy Foundation, and other notable honorees.

The Center for Literacy is Pennsylvania’s oldest and the nation’s largest community-based adult literacy organization, serving almost 5,000 students in more than 100 locations throughout Philadelphia.
