Center Director, Childspace Centers

Childspace Centers is looking for a committed, energetic, and organized Center Director. We seek a strong leader passionate about quality care and furthering a culture where staff can grow to meet their highest potential. Childspace has a proud 35-year history as a worker-owned cooperative where all employees have an opportunity to become owners
after a year. We are a private early education facility in the Mt Airy section of Philadelphia located on the beautiful New Covenant Campus.

The center director will be responsible for center management and oversight. This includes enrollment, program curriculum, staff development, parental engagement, DHS regulatory compliance, NAEYC and STAR 4 standards, and reporting requirements. The director collaborates with the Assistant Director and Quality and Advocacy Coordinator and is supported by an Administrator and CEO. Childspace has developed and implemented procedures to meet all the CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Skills and Knowledge: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education and at least four years of experience as a Center Director at another early education facility.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Basic computer skills—familiarity with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, and basic setup of projectors and tablets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations and NAEYC and Star 4 quality standards.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. (Salary range: $50,000-$60,000)

• 8-hour shift
