Celebrate My Drive

I am really excited to let you know about a brand new teen driver safety program State Farm® is launching this year. It’s called Celebrate My Drive™, and it’s designed to rally communities, including important partners such as you, around new drivers in the U.S. and Canada. We want your support! Read on to learn more about the program and how you can get involved now!
What is Celebrate My Drive?
Celebrate My Drive™ is one special day – Saturday, Sept. 15 — for communities to celebrate teens as they earn their driver’s licenses and prepare to explore the road ahead.
Celebrate My Drive events will take place across the U.S. and Canada, showing support for new teen drivers everywhere. Thirteen marquee events held in mall locations will be complemented by smaller, local events led by agents. The marquee locations are:
• Atlanta
• Chicago
• Cleveland
• Dallas
• Kansas City
• Los Angeles
• Minneapolis
• Orlando
• Philadelphia
• Phoenix
• Seattle
• Toronto
• Washington, D.C.
Here is the really exciting part!
• As part of the program, 13 high schools (one in each of the marquee event locations) will win a $100,000 grant. One high school engaged in an agent-driven event will also win a $100,000 grant. Additional grants will be distributed to non-profits throughout the U.S. and Canada to support teen driver safety efforts.
It’s important.
• Getting a driver’s license is one of the greatest joys in a person’s life, but the first year behind the wheel can be one of the most dangerous. There is no better time for State Farm to be there for teens and their families than at this significant milestone.
• By celebrating the drive with teens and their parents and providing safety tools and resources, State Farm is working to prevent teen crashes, reduce injuries and save lives.
How are teens hearing about Celebrate My Drive?
• To engage teens in the Celebrate My Drive conversation, encourage them to participate and create excitement, State Farm recently launched a Celebrate My Drive Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CelebrateMyDrive.
• The Facebook page is a “by teens, for teens” platform with information about Celebrate My Drive, focusing on teen conversations about the road ahead. The target audience is teens in the U.S. and Canada between the ages of 15 and 18.
• Through this online community, teens will be invited to provide input on the Celebrate My Drive effort. Tools and incentives will reward their participation.
• A variety of high school outreach programs are also in place across the country to reach new teen drivers and encourage participation at the events. Meetings with high school principals and other faculty members are in progress and Channel One advertising with Celebrate My Drive information begins April 23 through the end of May.
How can you help?
• Be a part of the buzz. Help spread the word to your high school education contacts to ensure they compete for one of 14 $100,000 grant awards.
• Encourage the teens within your networks to like us on Facebook and become part of the celebration.
