Kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month with the Pulitzer Center and the Washington Teacher’s Union! Join us for a series of webinars for educators featuring journalists who have extensive experience reporting on underreported issues facing communities throughout Latin America. Click here to register for one or more of these sessions.

  • Thursday, September 23 from 5:30-6:30pm EDT: Photojournalist Ana María Arévalo Gosen on women’s incarceration in El Salvador.
  • Thursday, September 30 from 5:30-6:30pm EDT: Photojournalist Pablo Albarenga on the stories of Indigenous rainforest defenders in the Amazon.

The journalists are fluent in English and Spanish, and plan to utilize both languages for the Q&A that follows their presentations. The reporting they will share is also available in both English and Spanish.

This session is open to all educators, but will primarily focus on resources for grades 6 and up.  Participants will receive a certificate for one professional learning unit at the conclusion of each session.
