CCP Classes for Youth Work Professionals

Attention Youth Work Professionals
Community College of Philadelphia offers classes in Youth Work.
• Day and Evening courses available
• Part-time or full time options
• Certificate and degree options—including transfer to four-year colleges
• Financial aid available
Currently registering students for January 2012-May 2012 semester
Students who complete all three courses will earn a certificate. The three courses listed below may be taken in any order. They can be taken in one semester or spread out over multiple semesters.
YOUTH WORK COURSES
Foundations of Youth Work (YW 101) –Evening Course
Provides an introduction to the field of youth work and covers principles of adolescent growth and behavior. (Course Reference Number 12596 Section 001)
Mondays 5:30-8:20 beginning Jan 17th, 2012
Family and Community Engagement (YW 110) –Day Course
Teaches the basics of family and community assessment and engagement. Students learn to recognize and understand key concepts of family dynamics (Course Reference Number. 12597 Sec 001) Thursdays 9:30-12:20pm beginning on January 19th, 2012
Critical Issues in Youth Work (YW 115) –Evening Course
Explores real world practice issues. Topics covered include legal and ethical issues in youth work, managing crisis, and responding to abuse and neglect (Course Reference Number 12598 Sec. 001) Tuesdays 5:30-8:20pm beginning January 18, 2012
