Posted by Campus Compact of New York and Pennsylvania on March 24, 2020
Campus Compact of New York and Pennsylvania – Boundary Spanning Leadership Summer Retreat at the The Winter Clove Inn, Round Top, NY, June 8-10, 2020.
The word “boundary” has two very different meanings:
1) Something that indicates bounds or limits; a border or bounding line; Also called frontier.
2) The location of the most advanced or newest activity in an area.
Boundary spanning leadership is the “ability to create direction, alignment, and commitment across organizational boundaries in service of a higher vision or goal” (Ernst & Chrobot-Mason).
At the nexus of institutional change for civic action lies the opportunity to utilize boundary leadership to effect change. During this retreat we will identify the common boundaries in higher education today. We will then explore and test boundary spanning practices and explore practices and tactics that will enhance the impact of your leadership.
Join your community engagement colleagues at The White Clove Inn in the beautiful Catskill Mountains for two day of exploring, learning, and rejuvenating.
