CASAA Antiracism and Social Justice Symposium, Arcadia University – Apr 10 & 11

Posted by Center for Antiracist Scholarship Advocacy and Action (CASAA) on March 21, 2023
Since its establishment in November 2021, Arcadia University’s Center for Antiracist Scholarship, Advocacy, and Action (CASAA) has worked to increase critical conversation at the University on issues of race, racism, and social justice in the past and in the contemporary world. Supported this year by a $300K grant, we are now excited to share with the community the invaluable insights we have gathered from the intensive and thoughtful projects with which our network of researchers has been engaged. In that spirit, we are pleased to host the first annual CASAA Antiracism and Social Justice Symposium, which will take place on Monday, April 10, 2023 and Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM ET.

This event is open to all–students, staff, faculty, and members of the general public–though pre-registration (available March 20-31, 2023) is required, as there is limited seating at each session. Note also that each individual who is interested in attending will need to register separately. When doing so, please make sure to complete all steps in the registration process: 1) Select the ticket for the Symposium; 2) on the second screen, provide your contact information; and 3), in the Add-Ons section, select each session that you are interested in attending.

Thanks to the wonderful support of our co-sponsors, funding from the University, and resources from our grant, there is no fee for this year’s event, which will include breakfast and lunch both days along with an assortment of delectable snacks for attendees. We will also be offering some exciting giveaways each day, so please join us for this important event–a catalyst for antiracist advocacy and action in our community–as we envision pathways for creating a more equitable and just world for us all.
