Career Professionals! Volunteer to Mentor a High School Student This Summer
Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on June 16, 2020
Are you inspired to give back this summer? Looking for a virtual volunteer experience? Sign up to serve as a Career Consultant with the Philadelphia Education Fund’s Gear Up Summer program.
Gear Up Summer provides more than 50 Philadelphia high school students with the opportunity to earn money while they learn and work. The program launches in July and is designed to help students prepare for college, explore career interests, and develop 21st century work skills.
In place of the in-person, in-office workplace experience typically key to our Gear Up Summer, this year we are excited to add a new virtual element – volunteer Career Consultants. Career Consultants agree to participate in three virtual sessions over the course of the summer, during which they will mentor up to five young people — helping them grow in their understanding of college and career pathways, as well as develop professional, leadership, and communication skills.
It’s an exciting opportunity to support our young people in reaching their goals and to invest in our city’s future workforce. Register to learn more and join us as a Career Consultant, today!
