Title: Career Path Advisor – Re-Entry Program

Location: Norristown, PA

Job Responsibilities:
• Develops career services and career counseling approaches for re-entry populations in Montgomery County.
• Provides small group instruction to participants in job search techniques, life skills, job retention strategies, pre-vocational/career transition opportunities and one-on-one tutoring as needed.
• Provides assessment and ongoing assessment of participant’s needs.
• Developing and revising an Individual Service Plan based on participant’s needs.
• Gathers information on appropriate employer/career match, incorporates into ISP, makes referrals and follow up with participant ad employer
• Assists participants to develop employment portfolio including resume and job application.
• Connecting participants to Pennsylvania’s JobGateway
• Conducts group participation activities to build self-esteem, enhance motivation and improve communication skills.
• Provides counseling related to career exploration, goal setting and problem solving; addresses behavior problems.
• Responsible for establishing relationships with employers, developing standing job bank, providing job leads and conducting job fairs.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of Internet applications and databases that support and deliver career services to participants.
• Documents case notes and verifies outcomes.
• Coordinates with case management staff to facilitate job search and placement by identifying challenges.

Qualifications/Education
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Internet Job Search applications. Driver’s license with good driving record.
