Career Information Fair For High School Students

Posted by on February 17, 2006

The Educational Advancement Alliance, Inc. will be hosting its Third Annual Career Information Fair (CIF) on Friday, March 3, 2006 from 1pm to 5pm. The CIF will be held at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue, located at 4200 City Avenue, in the Versailles/Grand Salon room.

The CIF is created to expose high school juniors and seniors to various career fields and employment options. We would like to have a representative from your company or organization to present information to our attendees. Our annual Career Information Fair is not a “job fair”; instead, we seek to expose students to the diversity of career possibilities available to them by providing direct access to professionals willing to discuss their careers in a personal setting. Our goal is to open students’ minds to their options, not to have recruiters passing out pamphlets.

Each attending representative will have a booth labeled with their respective organization’s name. Representatives of each profession will have the opportunity to converse with students and provide information about their particular career field. Representatives will also be expected to answer questions that students may have. Feel free to bring any audio-visual accompaniment pertaining to your occupation.

The goal of the Educational Advancement Alliance, Inc. is to provide educational information and opportunities to members of underrepresented groups. We work with individuals to map out goals and objectives for higher educational attainment and foster the development of self-esteem, self-confidence, leadership skills, academic achievement, team work, and social responsibility. EAA provides the bulk of its services to Philadelphia comprehensive high school students. Founded in 1990, EAA has serviced over 10,000 students in the city of Philadelphia.

If you are interested in participating in the special event, please contact Danielle Beaton at 215.472.2500 or dbeaton@eaalliance.org.
