The Transitional Work Corporation (TWC) is a nonprofit organization located in Center City Philadelphia that provides job training and placement services to entry-level workers. TWC provides clients with the experience, skills, and know-how they need to succeed in today?s competitive marketplace. TWC then works with employers in the Greater Philadelphia area to fill their staffing needs. TWC is looking to fill the following positions:

CAREER ADVISOR
GENERAL DEFINITION:
The primary relationship for participants in the Transitional Work Corporation?s Program,, is with a Career Advisor. The Career Advisor will guide the participant through the transitional work experience and provide continued support through the first six months of permanent employment. Career Advisors will manage an active caseload of active participants (participants in transitional employment) as well as an inactive (employed) caseload of participants.

The work includes a series of weekly one-on-one meetings conducted with the transitional employee to provide feedback and guidance to the individual. In addition, the Career Advisor may conduct regular peer support sessions with other transitional workers assigned to the Career Advisor. Responsibilities include maintaining case management files on individual transitional workers (active and employed) and providing management with appropriate reports on participant status when requested.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization?s mission, that being to enable TWC participants to become placed in and retain employment for at least two quarters after placement.
? Conduct psycho-social assessment and profile of all participants before their first day of work. Use this profile to develop a case management plan with the participant.
? Closely evaluate all participants, including weekly and/or biweekly site visits for all participants and biweekly assessment/credentialing of all participants. Consult with the on-site supervisor and Work Partner to resolve any problems that may arise.
? Ensure that participants meet all participant obligations, including attendance at work and Professional Development training.
? Coordinate the employee?s job readiness activities to ensure that it supports the work experience.
? Conduct individual meetings with transitional employee to assess skill development and training needs.

RETENTION CAREER ADVISOR
GENERAL DEFINITION:
The primary relationship for a participant in the Transitional Work Corporation (TWC) is a Career Advisor. The Retention Career Advisor supports the participant during the participant?s employment placement for at least six months from the participant?s date of hire. The Retention Career Advisor manages a caseload of approximately 45 participants and reports directly to the Director of Retention and Advancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization?s mission, that being to enable TWC participants to become placed in and retain employment for at least two quarters after placement.
? Review psychosocial assessment and profile of the participant and use this profile to update the case management plan with the participant.
? Consult with the participant?s supervisor at work to resolve any problems that may arise if and when possible.
? Maintain updated participant file including case notes on participant progress.
? Process and maintain updated, accurate paperwork regarding Bonuses, Transpasses, Advanced Career Training, and the GPW Mall and distribute Bonuses and Transpasses in a controlled and timely fashion.
? Ensure that participant meets all participant obligations, including attendance at work.
? Have a clear understanding of the benefits available to participant.
? Conduct individual meetings with participant to assess skill development and training needs.
? Monitor the work experience to ensure that it is effective in developing the employee?s skills.
? Assist with the replacement process and the update of r?sum?s.

FACILITATOR
GENERAL DEFINITION:
The Professional Development Training Facilitator reports directly to the Team Leader of the assigned Employment Team and indirectly to the Associate Director and Director of Career Development. The Facilitator is responsible for the development and facilitation of the training services program for all participants of SPOC throughout their period of transitional employment. The Professional Development Training Facilitator works with participants to prepare them for their entrance into their work world and permanent employment. The Professional Development Training Facilitator also works with other staff members in the Employment Pod to ensure that staff are adequately informed of the special needs of participants prior to their departure from transitional employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization?s mission, that being to enable TWC participants to become placed in and retain employment for at least two quarters after placement.
? Maintain class attendance records, and monitor participants for appropriate dress and business etiquette while at TWC. Refer participants with issues to the appropriate Career Advisor.
? Monitor classes and identify participants who may demonstrate behavior that points to substance abuse problems or exhibit negative patterns
? Facilitate Cluster and professional development classes. This includes: researching and developing curriculum for clusters and professional development classes; facilitating cluster and professional development curriculum; monitoring classes and identifying those students who exhibit job ready skills; and recommending participants who excel in the classroom setting for permanent placement.
? Develop curriculum.
? Develop and facilitate Work Partner Training including:
? Assist, as needed, with crisis intervention.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES FOR ALL POSITIONS:
Knowledge of:
? Current trends and developments in welfare reform and the development of Welfare to Work programs.
? Techniques of counseling and motivation appropriate to workplace contexts.
? Issues, concerns and barriers of employees newly entering the workforce.
? Laws, regulations and rules governing work requirements for TANF participants.
? Resources of public and private social service and related agencies.
? Computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office.
Ability to:
? Observe, recognize, analyze and report on an individual?s behavioral, attitudinal, emotional and social problems in the workplace.
? Establish a supportive relationship with participants and use the advising relationship to address behavior problems
? Recognize and be responsive to the needs of the work-site and the on-site supervisor.
? Plan and implement an individual development plan based on the assessed needs of the participant.
? Evaluate the work experience and the training program as they relate to the individual?s developmental needs and career goals.
