Canvass Organizer, Philly Counts
Posted by Urban Affairs Coalition on November 9, 2021
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH), through its newly-created Division of COVID-19 Containment, is responsible for monitoring COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 exposure within Philadelphia and determining appropriate mitigation strategies.
The Philly Counts office was originally created to support the 2020 Census. By working closely with community members and partners, this program increased understanding about the importance of the census, educated the public on how to participate, ensured responses from the public for a fair and accurate count, and supported filling census jobs.
Philly Counts is growing and we are looking to hire a Canvass Organizer. Canvassing Organizers will be responsible for overseeing up to 10 canvassers at a time, coordinating COVID-19 vaccine education and canvass training for their staff, actively coaching canvassers to reach their goals, and ensuring that they have the resources they need to canvass the targeted low-vaccination rate neighborhoods.
