Campus Compact 20th Anniversary Celebration
Posted by on June 9, 2006
As Campus Compact turns 20, we want to personally invite you to join us for a two-day celebration of campuses and communities working together for a better society.
The event begins Monday, October 16, at Campus Compact?s 20th Anniversary Gala in Chicago, celebrating two decades of educating citizens and building communities. Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter will announce a new and exciting partnership with Campus Compact and will present the first of this year?s Carter Partnership awards honoring campus-community projects that address critical areas of public need.
The following day, October 17, we also invite you to be part of our 20/20 Visioning Summit to discuss ways higher education can best help society over the course of the next 20 years. Mary Robinson, former president of Ireland and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, will give a keynote address.
In addition to Rosalynn Carter and Mary Robinson (confirmed), invited are national policymakers, including Senator John McCain, as well as higher education, philanthropic, corporate, and community leaders from across the country.
The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago ? http://mccormickplace.hyatt.com. Formal invitations to this celebration will go out in the near future.
Additional information can be found on the Campus Compact website at http://www.compact.org/20th. Registration begins April 1.
We hope that you will join us as we celebrate many stellar achievements and look forward to the next 20 years.
