Campus-Community Partnerships for Sustainability
Second Annual Conference
April 20-22, 2007

Eastern Kentucky University ? Perkins Conference Center ? Richmond, KY

The conference was initiated in 2006 to foster partnerships and collaborations between colleges and universities and their local communities to work towards a sustainable future.

Planned conference themes include:
* Models of institutional partnerships, energy conservation, water quality protection, greenspace and habitat protection, green building, integrated transportation networks, building local economies and food systems, local governance and planning, and community environmental education

Planned activities include:
* Special sessions for K-12 teachers
* ?Student Sustainability Summit?- Student-led panels of sustainability in higher ed
* Keynote speaker Eben Fodor, author of Better not Bigger
* Experiential workshops and tours related to solar energy, community gardens, passive building design, native landscaping, environmental education
* Poster and exhibit space for campus & community groups to showcase their activities and services

Collaborating institutions include:

* Berea College, Bluegrass Community & Technical College, Centre College, Eastern Kentucky University, Hazard Community & Technical College, Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College, University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, University of Louisville/ Partnership for a Green City
