4-Week Camp Counselor: July 5th-29th; Monday through Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
*Summer camp will be closed on Monday, July 4th.
4-Week Counselor Job Responsibilities: July 5th-29th, 2016
Supervise a group of 12-15 campers for the July Arts Intensive during morning and afternoon homeroom times, transitions between classes, free time, and during class times. All July camp groups are divided by age into four groups with one lead adult camp counselor per group.
Students travel with their age group to various classes throughout the day – art, music, theater, dance, claymation. These classes are led by ACPPA teaching artists. Camp counselors are expected to remain in the room with their group and assist the teacher during class times.
Assist with morning set up, supervise student arrivals to homeroom, line up for afternoon dismissal, and clean up after students leave for the day
Camp counselors will be responsible for leading a few group activities, games, and projects with their students. These will occur during scheduled times throughout the week and counselors will be given the necessary information/material to lead and implement these lesson plans.
Accompany students to weekly indoor swimming at Norristown High School. Counselors purely supervise and do not get into the pool or swim.
Counselors will take a lunch break (separate from campers) during their camp group’s lunch time.
