Camp College 2015 for rising first year students

Posted by Pennsylvania Association of College Admission Counseling (PACAC) on April 13, 2015

The Inclusion, Access and Success Committee of the Pennsylvania Association of College Admission Counseling (PACAC) is proud to launch its inaugural summer program for Pennsylvania’s high school students, Camp College 2015! Camp College 2015 is a real life residential college experience exposing rising high school juniors and seniors to a comprehensive college prep curriculum over the course of three days and two nights on the campus of Albright College in Reading, Pa. The program will take place from Wednesday July 29th – Friday July 31st. During the program students are immersed in an array of meaningful experiences to expose them to the nuances of the college selection and application process. These experiences include but are not limited to:applying for scholarships and financial aid, living on campus, meeting admissions representatives, using your guidance counselor effectively, and much more.

The program is designed to provide pre-college preparation for students from underserved populations such as first generation college students, students from low income families, and/or students with little access to college assistance. It is our hope to reach a wide range of students varying from students who are very self-motivated to students who are unsure of their educational paths as well as every student in between. The overall goal is to assist students in understanding the college application and financial aid processes and to provide resources to help each student negotiate all processes associated with a successful transition to college.

Please share this application with any students who you feel would benefit from attending Camp College 2015 and have them complete the attached application with supporting materials and mail it to the appropriate address by Friday May 15, 2015. There are only 60 seats available so please encourage students to apply as soon as possible.

Feel free to share this opportunity with other counselors and college access professionals. After viewing the application please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Camp College Co-Directors with any questions.
