Call for Workshops: National Conference on Volunteering and Service

The deadline for workshop proposals for the 2012 National Conference on Volunteering and Service is four weeks away. Remember to submit your proposal by 11:59 p.m. ET, December 5, 2011.
We are excited to share that we recently accepted proposals by Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist, cause marketing expert Carol Cone and national board president of the Girls Scouts of the USA Connie Lindsey to present during the 2012 conference.
Craig Newmark

Craig Newmark Head ShotCraig Newmarkis the founder of craigslist, the web-based platform that has fundamentally changed classified advertising. Since its founding in 1995, craigslist has become one of the Internet’s 10 most-visited English language sites.
In early 2011, Craig launched craigconnects, his initiative to link up everyone on the planet using the Internet to bear witness to good efforts and encourage the same behavior in others.
Carol Cone
Managing director and executive vice president, Edelman Brand & Corporate Citizenship
Carol Cone is a thought leader, speaker and nationally recognized “mother of cause marketing.” Before her current role with Edelman, Carol was the founder and chairman of Cone, Inc., where she led the development of signature cause branding programs for a host of Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits, including the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, ConAgra Foods’ Feeding Children Better, PNC Grow Up Great, the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, ITT Watermark, Western Union’s Our World, Our Family initiative and Reebok’s Human Rights program. She also created groundbreaking research reports to advance the strategic practice of social issues engagement.
Connie Lindsey
Executive vice president and head of corporate social responsibility, Northern Trust
Board president, Girls Scouts of the USA
Connie is responsible for the design and implementation of the global Corporate Social Responsibility strategy for Northern Trust. As National Board President of the Girl Scouts of the USA, she is the highest ranking volunteer leader of this 3.4 million member organization. She has been recognized for her leadership professionally and in the community by the National Diversity Council’s Most Powerful and Influential Women for 2010 Award.
