Call for Workshops: AIDS Prevention and Outreach Summit

I am emailing to encourage you to consider submitting a Workshop Proposal for this year’s Prevention and Outreach Summit which will be held on Wednesday, June 12  in Philadelphia at the Convention Center during AIDS Education Month.

The Prevention and Outreach Summit has become the premier conference in Philadelphia to discuss innovative HIV prevention and outreach strategies both locally and beyond and to develop new collaborations to work toward ending the epidemic. Nearly 1,000 people attended last year’s conference. The Prevention and Outreach Summit covers a wide range of topics and often includes expertise outside of AIDS service organizations to the wider social service and academic worlds to address underlying issues such as housing, addiction, or mental health to name a few.

Attached are this year’s guidelines for submitting a workshop with a template for what you will need to submit in order for your workshop to be considered. Additionally, there is an attachment providing hours of operation for FIGHT computer labs where friendly computer assistants will be available to help you fill out the online submission form should you need support.

The deadline for submitting is Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:00AM.. They should be submitted electronically through an online form on a NEW  AIDS Education Month website which will be launching at the end of December! The URL will remain http://www.fight.org/aem. The online form will not be up until January 1. You will receive a notice as soon as it is up and ready to receive submissions!

The Prevention Summit Committee will be selecting 20 workshops to be presented. Not all submissions will result in a workshop at the Prevention and Outreach Summit. The committee may ask that you modify your workshop or that you combine your knowledge and expertise into a panel with others.
