Posted by on December 8, 2006
Penn GSE Perspectives on Urban Education, http://www.urbanedjournal.org, is an online, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to fostering conversations between urban school researchers, practitioners and policy-makers. We publish four different genres of writing in our journal: Full-length Studies, ?Notes from the field? (practitioner stories or works in progress), Commentaries, and Book Reviews. Our upcoming issue, Volume 5, Issue 1, will be focused on the theme of ?Teaching for Social Justice.? Teaching for social justice means a commitment to equity and fairness in treatment and access to opportunities and resources, and can be achieved in many different ways. This issue of the Journal will highlight a variety of approaches and issues related to social justice, which provides many opportunities for a wide range of relevant submissions. Submissions for this issue are due February 1st, 2007. Contact the editor at journal@gse.upenn.edu for questions or submissions. You can visit the Journal online to subscribe or learn more at http://www.urbanedjournal.org
