ConnectED Learning
The 27th Annual Technology and Adult Education Conference
Friday, May 8, 2015 at Temple University

The Mayor’s Commission on Literacy, in collaboration with Temple University’s Center for Social Policy and Community Development, invites you to submit a proposal to present at the 27th annual technology conference, to be held May 8, 2015, on Temple University’s main campus in Philadelphia, PA.

The ultimate goal of The 27th Annual Technology and Adult Education Conference is to ensure that adults and out-of-school youth age 16 and up are prepared to succeed in GED® testing, acquisition of English as a Second Language, entry into post-secondary education and training, and family-sustaining jobs. Adult learners today require educational opportunities that help fulfill a wide variety of technology, social, educational and workforce goals. These goals can be achieved through connected learning, an approach to teaching and learning that promotes the use of technology to connect adult learners to peers, interests, academic and workforce opportunities.

The 27th Annual Technology and Adult Education Conference will showcase trends and opportunities for facilitating connected learning in adult education.

We invite proposals for dynamic, practice-based workshops focused on integrating technology into adult literacy instruction, curriculum, and programming. Your presentation will reach a variety of adult education practitioners and stakeholders from various types of adult education organizations across the region, including Executive Directors, Coordinators, Teachers, and Tutors. Priority will be given to proposals with hands-on technology exploration, highly interactive participant-centered learning, and that are consistent with this year’s theme, ConnectED Learning.

We encourage you to think broadly and creatively about ways that technology can be used to connect learners to peers, interests, and academic goals.

Application Deadline: 12:00 PM, Monday March 16, 2015.
