Call for Proposals: Nutrition Education Conference

CALL FOR SPEAKER PROPOSALS!!!

The Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network is hosting its Annual Conference this coming April 27th and 28th at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey in Harrisburg, PA. Be part of this exciting event by submitting proposals for conference sessions:

·         Opening keynote session
·         Dinner keynote session
·         Breakfast keynote session
·         Educational program sessions
·         Physical activities
·         Student and young professional career development sessions or activities

PROPOSALS ARE DUE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2009 so start thinking about fun, interesting and informative ideas!

Proposals should be geared towards the conferences theme Diversity: It’s More than Just Ethnicity

While the list below is not exhaustive, we hope some proposals address the following topics:

·         Diversity in Foods: Eating habits and food consumption
·         Diversity of Age/Lifecycle: Understanding different lifestyle aspects and nutritional concerns with different age/lifecycle groups (i.e. baby boomers, sandwich group, adolescents and toddlers, pregnant women, elderly)
·         Diversity of Family Units: Grandparents raising grandkids, blended families, single mothers, etc.
·         Diversity in Nutrition Education: Bridging the cultural gap in developing nutrition curriculums, food banks and cultural sensitivity, challenges with counseling different cultures.

We encourage you to submit proposals that think “outside the box.”  Audience participation is a key component.
