Call for Proposals: National Teaching, Learning, & Technology Conference

The Ryerson University Learning and Teaching Office in Toronto, Ontario is pleased to host the 31st McGraw-Hill Ryerson National Teaching, Learning, & Technology Conference entitled:

“Students at the Centre – Transforming Education…and Lives”

In this exciting time of change, education is transforming. There are new tools to help us teach and creative ways to help our students learn – and they continue to change at a rapid pace. Today’s students have new expectations of their learning experience and the resulting impact it will have on their careers, their future – and their lives. In order to fully realize the potential of this transformation, we must place students at the centre. A learner-centred focus sets clear goals, identifies outcomes and accomplishments, and prepares our students for tomorrow’s world – today.

You’re invited to attend this conference Nov 16-18, 2007 to explore this exciting concept and discover how we can work together with our students to transform education – and lives.

Presenters are encouraged to submit presentations that demonstrate how lives have been transformed through:

* Unique ways of enhancing the teaching and learning experience
* Innovative ways of evaluating student learning
* Institutional practices that support innovative teaching and learning practices
* Creative strategies that engage students and community partners in learning opportunities
* Teaching practices that focus on the whole person – mind, body, and spirit
* Inclusive teaching and learning strategies enabling all students to fully participate
* Expanding learning spaces in creative ways

Submissions are encouraged from all participants in the higher educational process – faculty, students in partnerships with others, staff, students services, administrators, and the community.

Submit your proposal for a concurrent session no later than September 15, 2007.

(You will be notified if your proposal has been accepted by September 30th, 2007 – accepted presenters will also receive a special registration rate)
