Call for Proposals: Gulf-South Summit on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement

On behalf of Tulane University?s Center for Public Service and the Executive Committee of the Gulf-South Summit, I would like to invite you to attend the fourth annual Gulf South Summit on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement through Higher Education in New Orleans, Louisiana from March 14 ? 16, 2007.

In a city and region still embroiled in the work of recovery, we are excited about the opportunity to invite our colleagues and friends to join in the conversation about the role of higher education in civic engagement. The 2007 summit will feature over 42 concurrent sessions and a roster of nationally prominent speakers, including

? Nadinne Cruz, Consultant and former Director of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University
? Andrew Furco, Founding Director, Service-Learning Research and Development Center at University of California-Berkeley, and faculty in the Graduate School of Education.
? Barbara Holland, Director of the Learn and Serve America National Service-Learning Clearinghouse (NSLC) and Senior Scholar in the Center for Service and Learning at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis
? Kerrissa Heffernan, Associate Director of the Swearer Center for Public Service and Director, Royce Fellowship Program at Brown University
? Ken Reardon, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of City and Regional Planning at Cornell University
