Call for Proposals: Gulf South Summit on Service-Learning

The sixth annual Gulf South Summit on Service-Learning will be held March 13-15, 2008, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Loews Vanderbilt Plaza. This summit will bring together national speakers and over 350 practitioners from higher education, K-12, and community agencies for dialogue on service-learning, community engagement, civic responsibility and democratic renewal. It provides a forum for best practices, sharing of research, and development of a professional network of practitioners in all aspects of service-learning.
Pre-Summit workshops include Integrating Service-Learning into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Disciplines, led by Dr. Mary Beth Lima; Using Research to Facilitate Service-Learning Program Development led by Dr. Barbara Moely; and Service-Learning Course Creation Workshop led by Dr. Edward Zlotkowski
Faculty, staff, students, community leaders, and community partners are invited to submit proposals and to participate in the Summit.
Deadline for submitting proposals is Oct. 22nd.
