Global Education for the World We Need: Inclusivity, Excellence, and Cooperation at Home and Abroad
When and Where: October 2 – 3, 2020, Philadelphia Marriott West
Sponsored by: The Pennsylvania Council for International Education
In classrooms, on campuses, in civic life, in corporate boardrooms, and around the world, one thing is clear: communities that cooperate well excel. In a world that may appear to grow apart, educators face the daunting challenge of helping students learn the skills and understanding that bring us together. Across Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic, and around the world, thousands of K-12 and higher education educators do this important work everyday, across subjects and skill levels, building students’ awareness of the skills and knowledge they need for the 21st Century. On October 2nd and 3rd, 2020, the Pennsylvania Council for International Education hosts its 51st Conference. This year’s theme focuses on how educators build inclusivity, excellence, and cooperation in global education in the classroom, on-campus, and off-campus.
We gather outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a city and state founded on ideals of expanding religious freedom and inclusivity. We recognize those ideals are yet to be realized, and aim to build upon lessons learned in a region that has grown and flourished because of immigration.
The PACIE Conference is open to all educators, and is unique for the ways in which it fosters dialogue and connection across K-12 and higher education to advance global ready graduates. In comparison with other conferences, it is affordable, and includes a sliding scale to recognize different abilities to secure professional development funding depending on context. Conference hotel rates have been negotiated with the Philadelphia Marriott West. Educators from all states and contexts are most welcome.
Session proposals are due no later than April 19, 2020. Learn more and submit here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSffy3kDwf9ZeMxFmB1Byc5S0H86jX6AfJHWV7mpQ9vxqn0V6w/viewform
