CFSC Accepting Proposals for Upcoming Conference: “Food Policy from Neighborhood to Nation”
In May of this year, Community Food Security Coalition will be hosting the first ever national conference on local and state food policy in the US. Building on CFSC’s 2009 Food Policy Council national gathering, this conference will bring together people from across North America who are working to influence local and state food, agriculture, or nutrition policy. Goals of the conference include fostering information exchange; provide a networking opportunity for individuals involved in local food policy; and to identify local policies that could be adapted to the federal level, through the 2012 Farm Bill or other non-agricultural legislation.
CFSC is now accepting proposals from groups and individuals interested in presenting at the upcoming conference “Food Policy from Neighborhood to Nation” May 19-21, in Portland, OR. Attendees will participate in three days of networking, peer-to-peer learning, and skill building around food policy at the state and local level. Conference attendees will also participate in the formation of a national Food Policy Network. Visit http://www.foodpolicyconference.org/ for more information about the conference, or click here[pdf] to download the request for proposals.
