Call for Proposals: Conference on Transforming STEM Higher Education – Aug 19

Posted by American Association of Colleges and Universities on August 18, 2020

Proposals now open for This Changes Everything, a Virtual Learning Experience, November 5, 2020 to November 7, 2020.

The American Association of Colleges &Universities (AAC&U) Conference on Transforming STEM Higher Education will examine a range of contemporary challenges to—and opportunities for—STEM higher education reform. This conference focuses on advancing undergraduate STEM education reform that brings diverse perspectives and worldviews to bear on levers of change. In keeping with Project Kaleidoscope’s (PKAL) commitment to empowering STEM faculty through professional development, the conference will also explore novel approaches to professional and leadership development.

AAC&U and PKAL invite you to submit a proposal to present at the 2020 Conference on Transforming STEM Higher Education. We especially encourage session proposals exploring updated approaches to: conducting STEM education research, teaching, broadening participation, and developing assessment tools within the framework of STEM higher education reform.

Pre-conference workshop proposals are due Wednesday, August 19. These sessions are a highlight of the conference and provide opportunities for attendees to vigorously and deeply engage in topics that are critical to the reform of STEM higher education. All pre-conference workshops are expected to be highly interactive, utilizing creative strategies that are appropriate for a virtual space, and grounded in the basic principles of adult learning. Proposals for general conference sessions are due September 15.

Session proposals should address:

  • Classroom- or Project-Level Interventions
  • Institution-Level Interventions
  • National Interventions
  • STEM Education Research

By submitting a proposal, you will join hundreds of undergraduate STEM reformers in co-creating an informed national agenda that gives meaning and purpose to undergraduate STEM education practice, research, and policy.
