Posted by Gwynedd Mercy University on December 17, 2024

Gwynedd Mercy University welcomes proposals for our 5th Annual Conference on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education, being held online in Zoom on Monday, April 7, and Tuesday, April 8, 2025, 6-8 pm Eastern. Our 2025 conference focuses on the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in education during these challenging political times, focusing on the theme, “Why DEI? It Matters!” Our students’ diversity can encompass multiple characteristics, such as race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status, and citizenship status, among others. Our conference focuses on institutional, instructional, co-curricular, and community strategies for advancing Social Justice.

We seek presentations that are geared toward educators and administrators in PK-12 and higher education, as well as staff members who support students in these settings. Preference will be given to proposals that meet one or more of the following themes:

  • Institutional strategies for advancing DEI
  • Instructional strategies for advancing DEI
  • Co-curricular or community strategies for advancing DEI
  • Strategies for addressing challenges to advance DEI

We are soliciting proposals in both live and poster formats. Live presentations may be in either lecture or panel format, 50 minutes online in Zoom. Poster presentations require a visual presentation that the audience can view at any time.

The proposal deadline is Monday, January 20, 2025. Decisions will be made on proposal acceptance by Monday, February 10, 2025.

Please complete the proposal form via Microsoft Forms.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Peggy Kerr, conference chair, at rosario.p@gmercyu.edu.
