Call for Proposals: 2026 CUMU Conference – Mar 19
Posted by Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities on January 20, 2026
The call for proposals for the 2026 Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU) Conference, Anchored in Purpose, in Houston, TX, November 8–11, 2026, is now open.
Urban and metropolitan colleges and universities are uniquely positioned to advance opportunity, strengthen communities, and shape the future of their regions. This year we examine how campuses stay steadfast in mission while adapting to evolving challenges, forging partnerships that amplify impact, and activating institutional strengths to build stronger institutions and healthier, more vibrant communities.
The 2026 CUMU Conference, Anchored in Purpose, explores how purpose-driven strategies — rooted in place and responsive to community needs — advance social and economic mobility for students, support regional prosperity, and enhance community well-being.
We invite proposals that showcase impactful work, collaborative and cross-institutional initiatives, critical perspectives, and innovative ideas.
Submissions are due by March 19, 2026.
