Call for Proposals: 2024 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) Conference – Feb 5
Posted by American Association of State Colleges and Universities on November 28, 2023
The 2024 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) meeting — a national conference for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners interested in advancing the civic learning and democratic engagement movement in higher education — will take place in Detroit, Michigan from June 5 – 7, 2024. CLDE 2024 organizers are seeking proposals for 50-minute concurrent sessions and poster presentations.
Sessions and posters should be connected to one of the following topics (“Emphasis Areas”) to inspire and inform, but not limit, your session or presentation:
Integrating justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility
Incorporating experiential learning opportunities
Ensuring sustainable campus-wide voter education and engagement
Assessing institution-wide civic learning objectives
Implementing curricular and pedagogical strategies
Implementing co-curricular and programmatic strategies
Expanding civic engagement beyond the institution
Click here to read the Call for Proposals and submit a proposal. Proposals are due by Monday, February 5, 2024. Team submissions — especially from teams of campus community members who play various roles (i.e. students, faculty, and/or staff members working together) — are particularly encouraged, but individual submissions are also welcome.
Feel free to email Tess McRae at tessmcrae@umbc.edu if you have any questions about the Call for Proposals or CLDE 2024.
