Request for Programs – Drexel University Service Leaders Summit/Social Justice Week
Drexel University’s “Social Justice Week” will work in conjunction with the annual Philadelphia “Service Leaders Summit” to bring together students, staff, faculty, non-profit professionals, and the broader Philadelphia community to explore, analyze, and address issues ranging from poverty, privilege, & oppression – to models and best practices for working toward social justice. The programs are designed to recognize the broad range of issues that impact social justice and to cultivate a campus and community climate committed to social responsibility and leadership.
This year, we are encouraging program planners to incorporate personal stories of experiences of injustice and triumph in justice work in their programs. Story sharing has been an important force in social change work for many decades, creating deeper relationships and helping to build communal visions for a liberated world. This year, we want to bring the transformative power of story sharing to Drexel’s Social Justice Week and the Service Leaders Summit, sponsored by PHENND and Drexel’s Lindy Center. The week will run from Saturday , April 6 through Sunday, April 14. Deadline for Program Proposals: Thursday, February 14, 2013
