Workshop submissions should cover any of the topics listed below. Priority will be given to creative presentations and ones that outline practical ways in which students can become involved. The objective of the conference is to “raise awareness among students in our region of the country to contemporary problems confronting our global society, empower them to creatively engage these problems and participate in the creation of a better and safer world.”
If you know of an individual or group that may be interested in participating in this conference, please forward this e-mail to that person or group.
Workshops Will Cover:
– Trade and Economic Justice

1st Deadline for Submission: Friday, June 17, 2005
Proposal Review and Selection: The Organizing Committee will review and evaluate all submissions. The Committee retains the right to request additional information, decline a presentation which it does not deem relevant to the conference and ask the submitter to make changes to improve the presentation. All submitters before the first deadline will receive e-mail notification by June 30, 2005.
Conference Format: There will be six simultaneous sessions of 50-minute workshops on Saturday and two on Sunday. The format of each workshop will be at the discretion of the presenter. We, however, favor the simple presentation followed by Q and A and next/action step phase. Students will be able to register online for the workshops of their choice.
Proposal Preparation Instructions: Submitters must complete an abstract (50 words or less) to be used in the program description. In addition, please submit a more detailed summary, not more than 500 words describing the individual presentation or entire symposium.
