Call for Papers: Service-Learning at Faith-Based Colleges

Announcement and Call for Papers – The 4th biannual conference on Service-Learning at Faith-Based Colleges and Universities will be held at Messiah College June 1-3, 2005 with the title, “Faith Traditions, Spirituality and Service-Learning.” The conference is designed for faculty who teach service-learning courses, directors of service-learning programs, student life persons working in service-learning, and community partners. Papers are invited from all perspectives. Anyone whether at a faith-based college or university or not interested in exploring how values and spirituality (broadly defined) interact with Service-Learning will want to attend. Two years ago 150 persons from 70 different colleges and universities from a very broad range of perspectives attended the conference. Elizabeth Hollander, Executive Director of Campus Compact is the keynote speaker and Sharon Shields Assistant Provost for Service-Learning from Vanderbilt University is a plenary speaker. The conference is supported by a grant from the Lilly Foundation, Inc., Registration which includes meals and lodging in air conditioned dorm rooms is $130.00.
