Call for Papers: Special Journal Supplement on Language Barriers In Health Care
Deadline: October 2, 2006

The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) invites submissions to a supplement issue of the Journal of General Internal Medicine (JGIM) on language barriers in health care. Papers should be submitted online between now and October 2, 2006. The Co-Editors will review all manuscripts and send out for external peer review. The goals of the theme issue are to 1) highlight state of the art research on the effects of language barriers on access, quality and cost of health care; 2) provide insight for clinicians, educators, researchers, administrators, and policy makers on addressing language barriers in healthcare settings; and 3) draw attention to unexplored areas of research and education. They encourage submissions from clinician investigators, clinician educators, social scientists and policy makers. For more details on how to submit a manuscript, visit
