The Conference will be held at the Orlando, FL Hilton at Walt Disney World from Thursday, November 11th through Saturday, November 13th.
The Keynote Talk will be given by Vermont Secretary of State Deb Markowitz, “The Future of Civics Education for the Connected Generation.”
For a country to flourish and grow, and for a democracy to sustain liberty and justice, the next generation of citizens must acquire the civic skills, abilities and commitments to govern. This interdisciplinary conference will draw together researchers and practitioners including: K-12 educators; and counselors, University faculty and researchers, and School and University administrators. Previous Keynote speakers include: Peter Levine, CIRCLE, Carolyn Pereira, Constitutional Rights Foundation, Trey Grayson, Kentucky Secretary of State. Previous conferences have been held in New Orleans, Orlando, Vancouver, and Nashville. Future meetings are scheduled for Las Vegas and New Orleans.
Please consider submitting a proposal to present either a 30-minute presentation. Types of presentations include: research, theoretical articles, or papers prepared by practitioners that deal with application, best practices, or case studies.
This is a presenter’s conference, and we strongly encourage people to attend the various sessions throughout the three day meeting. The conference registration fee includes a plated lunch each day of the conference, as well as an opening night reception, providing attendees an opportunity to meet and get to know each other. Student registration rates are $300, and faculty registration rates are $375.
