Call for Nominees: Mayor’s Day of Service Recognition
Posted by City of Philadelphia on February 13, 2017
Please mark your calendars for the Mayor’s Day of Service Recognition, which will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, 12:00 PM at City Hall. I am happy to inform you that nominations are now open for these Service Awards. This year in addition to the awards for Distinguished National Service, there will be a Philly Hero Award for a resident of Philadelphia who has made a unique contribution to the city through his or her service. Nominations may be submitted through the online form located at: https://goo.gl/forms/zzbCcRimCtGhBeiB2.
Please share the notice about nominations and the link to the form to your networks. The deadline to submit is 5:00PM on March 3.
In conjunction with the Mayor’s Day of Service Recognition Awards Ceremony, there will be a National Service Poster Session. Please select 1-2 representatives from your program to present a (standard tri-fold) poster at this session and send me their names and contact info at your earliest convenience. The poster should address the theme: “Why I serve,” and present the impact of their service.
Lastly, planning for AmeriCorps Week is underway. There will be 2 events at which we would like to include individual stories of AmeriCorps members in an information packet (one at a City Council meeting and the second at an AmeriCorps State and Federal briefing). Please consider members of your corps for potential inclusion in this packet. More details to follow.
