Posted by PennFuture on February 12, 2018

PennFuture is accepting nominations for its 4th Annual Celebrating Women in Conservation Awards, which will be held Thursday, April 19 at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia.

Each year, PennFuture honors the accomplishments of five exceptional women conservationists in Pennsylvania. The 2018 Celebrating Women in Conservation Awards are designed to encourage continuing excellence in conservation and to forge a stronger network of exceptional women working to protect Pennsylvania’s environment. This year’s awards include:

  • Woman of the Delaware River Watershed
  • Woman of Environmental Justice
  • Woman of Climate and Renewable Energy
  • Woman of Community Engagement and Environmental Education
  • Woman with Lifetime Achievement in Conservation

Each year since its inception, this event has convened in a different region of the state to ensure recognition of local leaders, volunteers and career professionals. This year, nominations will focus on Southeast Pennsylvania. Individuals may nominate up to five women, including themselves, with one nomination per category. Those nominated must be from one of the following counties: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, or Berks.

To submit a nomination, please complete and return the nomination form and up to two letters of recommendation (per nominee) to PennFuture by March 9, 2018. For questions regarding nominations please contact Emily Rinaldi at 570-216-3344 or rinaldi@pennfuture.org.
