Call for Articles: Community-Engaged Learning and Peer Advocacy into Developmental Education
Posted by on June 11, 2012
This is call for articles for the upcoming online publication entitled Lessons from the Field: Weaving Community-Engaged Learning and Peer Advocacy into Developmental Education.
For this web-based publication, Campus Compact – Connect2Complete (C2C) and the Community College National Center for Community Engagement (CCNCCE) seek to encourage academic research and discussion that bridges the fields of developmental education, community-engaged learning, peer advocacy and mentoring.
Lessons from the Field: Weaving Community-Engaged Learning and Peer Mentoring into Developmental Education will offer best practices, models, lessons learned, and research from community college and university faculty and staff. Articles will address persistence, student success and completion by working directly with developmental education students and programs that have intentionally incorporated community-engaged learning and/or peer advocacy and mentoring as a means to succeed. As editor of the publication, I invite and encourage you to submit articles for publication.
While we encourage submissions from all Connect2Complete colleges, we also hope to publish articles from other colleges to showcase their thriving developmental education programs.
We invite various perspectives from administrators, faculty, staff and students regarding student success, service and completion.
