Business Case for Increasing Food Stamp Participation

New Information Posted on the FNS Website: The Business Case for Increasing Food Stamp Participation
Recently, at the request of States, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) developed materials which detail why increasing participation of eligible people in the FSP makes sense for States and communities from an economic development perspective and for low-income people from a nutrition perspective. As part of this effort, FNS conducted an analysis to examine the economic impact, by State and for the Nation, of a five percentage point increase in the food stamp participation rate. Each State Food Stamp Agency received a customized packet, from their FNS regional office, detailing the information for their State and to use as an outreach tool in whatever manner they choose. All States received their materials last month and we are now pleased to share the national version of the materials with you. The national version of these materials is available on the FNS website at the following link: http://www.fns.usda.gov/fsp/outreach/business-case.htm.
Please send an email to fsoc@fns.usda.gov if you have any questions about these materials. Thank you.
