POSITION OPENING
Philadelphia Physicians for Social Responsibility has one opening for the position of Bullying Prevention Program Coordinator. The BPP Coordinator works closely with schools and staff on implementing the BPP school-wide and within the surrounding community.
Job Description
* Complete Bullying Prevention Training.
* Facilitate subsequent trainings independently or co-facilitate with BP Director
* Become thoroughly familiar with the Olweus? Bullying Prevention Model, and creatively promote and implement program with fidelity in designated settings.
* Oversee and coordinate all BP activities in designated settings and surrounding communities.
* Maintain a recognizable and regular presence in designated settings.
* Manage grant administration including monthly reports, Act-48 credits, and school budgets.
* Liaison between BP Coordinating Committee, school staff and administration.
* Attend local BP trainings and school-site BP meetings.
* Attend meetings relevant to Bullying Prevention as necessary and assigned.
* Organize parental and community involvement.
* Organize outreach to community members, resources, etc.
* Work with BP evaluator to facilitate data collection and data entry management
* Work and communicate with Program Director regarding program implementation issues.
* Become conversant on school and community resources and programs, and facilitate school referrals to available providers.
* Assist with coordination of BP activities for the overall program growth and expansion.
* Assist with other PSR Programs as needed
*Since there is no administrative support as of this time, all staff members share office administrative duties such as answering the phone, faxing, copying, etc.
Reports to: Bullying Prevention Program Director
Start date: immediately
Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor?s degree with 2-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an educational or community setting. Training and presentation experience necessary. Experience in the Philadelphia public schools preferred or work experience with urban schools and/or community settings. Creativity: able to work well with diverse school staff. Strong organizational and writing skills, and oral communication skills. Team-oriented: able to work independently with flexible hours, car necessary. Supervisory and leadership experience desirable.
