Teen Café discusses learning outside the classroom
The Youth Action Scholar Groups of the University Community Collaborative of Philadelphia will sponsor its final Teen Cafe of the school year on the topic, Building the Community Classroom.
The workshop is about how learning happens outside the traditional classroom – in community spaces, youth programs and everyday experiences. Each group will do an activity exemplifying the work they have done this year educating themselves and other youth on issues of race, health, and politics in everyday life.
The interactive workshop also includes a healthy dinner.
The event takes place on Friday, May 14th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Penrose Playground, 12th and Susquehanna Sts. in Philadelphia.
