DESIGNING MATH PATHWAYS
Building Institutional Capacity and Sustainability in Math Redesign
The Designing Mathematics Pathways Workshop supports institutional teams to begin or deepen work to develop and implement math pathways at scale. This workshop is designed for institutional teams of mathematics faculty and at least one administrator and representative of advising; it is highly interactive with sessions for team planning. Teams will leave with specific action steps to launch new efforts or further current work.
Outcomes:
Participants will:
- Identify key issues and activities in the process of implementing mathematics pathways.
- Draft goals for scaling mathematics pathways.
- Draft a short-term timeline with specific action steps to launch or strengthen implementation efforts.
- Map major activities to achieve a mid-term implementation goal.
- Explore the relationship between pathways design and the desired student experience.
- Practice backwards mapping to define content.
